We only ask for what we need to get your order to you and keep in touch. This page explains what that is, who helps us do it, and the choices you have. If anything here is unclear, email us at info@buyturmerix.com.

Who we are

TurmeriX Pty Ltd (ABN 84 616 022 952) is an Australian company based in Melbourne, Victoria. We make and sell turmeric supplements, skincare, chocolate bars and pet and equine products through buyturmerix.com and buyturmerix.co.nz, and through our wholesale and affiliate partners.

This policy is written to follow the Australian Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth). For customers in New Zealand, it also reflects the Information Privacy Principles in the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020.

What we collect

Information you give us:

• Your name, email address, phone number and delivery and billing address when you place an order, create an account, or contact us.
• Your age confirmation where we need it to confirm a product is suitable for you.
• Your marketing preferences, including whether you have opted in to email or SMS.
• Anything you tell us when you contact us by email, phone, social media or through our website, including questions about products, orders and returns.
• Product reviews and photos you choose to submit.
• If you apply to become a wholesale stockist or affiliate, your business name, ABN, contact details and payment details for commissions.
• If you enter a competition, attend one of our events, or scan one of our QR codes, the details you provide as part of that activity.

Information collected automatically:

• Order history and details of the products you buy.
• Your IP address, device type, browser, and the pages you visit on our site.
• How you interact with our emails and text messages, such as opens, clicks and unsubscribes.
• Referral information, such as the link, discount code or affiliate that brought you to our site.
• Cookie and tracking data described in the Cookies and tracking section below.

We do not collect health information about you. Our products are listed medicines and we may ask you to confirm you are an adult, but we do not ask about medical conditions and we ask you not to share them with us. If you do share health information in a support message, we treat it as confidential, use it only to answer your question, and do not add it to your customer record.

We do not store full payment card numbers. Card and wallet payments are processed by Shopify Payments, Shop Pay, PayPal, Apple Pay, Google Pay and similar providers, who handle your payment details under their own privacy policies.

How we collect it

• Our website, checkout and account pages.
• Email, phone, social media messages and in-person contact at events and markets.
• Our email and SMS platform when you subscribe or interact with our messages.
• Our affiliate and wholesale application forms.
• Cookies and similar technologies on our website.

Where it is practical, we collect information from you directly. Sometimes we receive it from a third party, for example a shipping carrier updating a delivery address, a marketplace such as eBay passing through an order, or a reseller referring a customer.

Why we collect and use it

• Process, pack and deliver your order, and take payment.
• Manage your account, subscriptions and any returns or refunds.
• Answer your questions and provide customer support.
• Send you order confirmations, shipping updates and other service messages.
• Send you marketing emails and text messages, where you have agreed to receive them.
• Personalise the products, offers and content we show you.
• Run competitions, events and promotions.
• Pay commissions to affiliates and manage wholesale accounts.
• Measure how our website, emails, ads and campaigns perform, and improve them.
• Detect and prevent fraud, and keep our website and systems secure.
• Meet our legal obligations, including product safety, tax and record-keeping requirements.

We only use your information for the purpose we collected it for, or for a related purpose you would reasonably expect. If we ever want to use it for something else, we will ask you first.

Marketing and your choices

If you buy from us or subscribe on our website, we may send you marketing emails about our products, offers and news. We only send marketing text messages to people who have separately opted in to SMS. You can opt out at any time by:

• Clicking the unsubscribe link at the bottom of any marketing email.
• Following the opt-out instructions in any text message.
• Emailing info@buyturmerix.com.

Opting out of marketing does not stop service messages about your orders or account. We comply with the Spam Act 2003 (Cth) and the New Zealand Unsolicited Electronic Messages Act 2007.

SMS communications

If you provide your mobile number and opt in to our SMS program, we collect your mobile number, a record of your consent (when and how you opted in), and information about the messages we send you, such as delivery and click activity.

We use this to send the marketing text messages you have agreed to receive, and to send service or order-related messages where relevant. Providing your number and consenting to SMS is always optional and is never a condition of buying from us.

We use a third-party messaging provider (Klaviyo) to send these messages on our behalf. We do not sell your mobile number, and we do not share it with anyone for their own marketing.

You can opt out at any time using the link in our messages or by emailing info@buyturmerix.com. Message and data rates may apply, and message frequency varies.

Who we share it with

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only where we need to in order to run our business, and only with providers who are bound to use it for our purposes alone. These include:

• Ecommerce platform: Shopify, which hosts our website, checkout, customer accounts and order records.
• Payment processors: Shopify Payments, PayPal and digital wallet providers.
• Email and SMS: Klaviyo.
• Shipping and fulfilment: Australia Post and other carriers, and shipping and label apps connected to our store.
• Subscriptions, reviews and store tools: apps connected to our Shopify store that manage subscription orders, product reviews, our stockist finder and similar features.
• Affiliate and referral tracking: GoAffPro, which records the link or code that brought you to our site so we can pay affiliate commissions.
• Advertising and analytics: Google (Google Ads, Google Analytics) and Meta (Facebook and Instagram), as described in the Cookies and tracking section.
• Marketplaces: eBay, where you buy from us through that platform.
• Our marketing agency, which manages our website, email and advertising on our behalf.
• Professional advisers such as accountants, lawyers and IT support, where needed.
• Government agencies, regulators, courts and law enforcement, where the law requires it.

Our regional distributors and stockists are independent businesses. If you buy from them, or follow a regional TurmeriX social media account, that business is responsible for the information it collects from you.

Overseas disclosure

Some of the providers listed above store or process data outside Australia and New Zealand. In particular, Shopify, Klaviyo, Google, Meta, PayPal and GoAffPro operate from, or use servers located in, the United States, Canada, Ireland and other countries.

We take reasonable steps to make sure these providers protect your information to a standard comparable with Australian and New Zealand privacy law, including relying on their contractual commitments and published privacy and security practices. By using our website and services, you acknowledge that your information may be stored and processed in these countries.

Cookies and tracking

Our website uses cookies and similar technologies. Some are essential to make the site work, such as keeping items in your cart and remembering you are logged in. Others help us understand how people use the site and show relevant ads. These include:

• Shopify cookies for the cart, checkout, security and basic site analytics.
• Google Analytics, which tells us how visitors find and use our site.
• Google Ads and Meta (Facebook and Instagram) pixels, which let us measure whether our advertising works and show our ads to people who have visited our site.
• Klaviyo tracking, which links your browsing and purchases to your email or SMS subscription so we can send more relevant messages.
• A GoAffPro referral cookie, which records the affiliate link or code you arrived through.

You can control cookies through your browser settings, and you can opt out of interest-based advertising through Google's and Meta's ad settings. Turning off cookies may affect how some parts of the site work.

How we keep it secure

We take reasonable steps to protect your personal information from misuse, loss, unauthorised access, modification or disclosure. Our website is encrypted using SSL/TLS, access to customer data is limited to staff and providers who need it, and we use platforms that maintain their own security certifications.

No system is completely secure. If we become aware of a data breach that is likely to cause you serious harm, we will notify you and the relevant regulator as required by the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme in Australia or the Privacy Act 2020 in New Zealand.

How long we keep it

We keep your personal information for as long as we need it to provide our products and services and to meet our legal obligations. Order and payment records are kept for at least seven years to satisfy Australian tax and consumer law requirements. Marketing data is kept while you remain subscribed, and for a reasonable period afterwards to honour your opt-out. When we no longer need your information, we delete it or de-identify it.

Accessing and correcting your information

You can ask us for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, or ask us to correct it, by emailing info@buyturmerix.com. You can also update most of your details yourself by logging into your account on our website.

We will respond within 30 days. We may need to verify your identity before we release information. If we refuse a request, we will tell you why.

Children

Our products are intended for adults. Our website and marketing are not directed at children under 18, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will remove it.

If our business changes hands

If TurmeriX Pty Ltd, or the business or assets that make up TurmeriX, is sold, merged or restructured, your personal information may be transferred to the new owner as part of that transaction. The new owner will be bound to use your information in a way consistent with this policy, and we will let you know if a change of ownership affects how your information is handled.

Complaints

If you think we have mishandled your personal information, please contact us first at info@buyturmerix.com so we can try to resolve it. We will acknowledge your complaint promptly and aim to respond within 30 days. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can contact:

Changes to this policy
